A Horse of a Different Color
'The imagination is a palette of bright colors.
You can
use it to touch up memories ~
or you can use it to paint dreams.'

Seahorse Calm
Go Slow to Go Fast
'One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from a
horse master.
He told me to go slow to go fast. I think that applies to
everything in life.
We live as though there aren't enough hours in the day
but
if we do each thing calmly and carefully
we will get it done quicker and with
much less stress.'
Viggo Mortensen
When Your Mind Rides Faster You Tire Quicker
'When a man's mind rides faster
than his horse can gallop they both quickly tire.'
John Webster
The Spirited Horse Encouraged
'The spirited horse, which will try to win the race
of its own accord,
will run even faster if encouraged.'
Ovid
'A horse never runs so fast
as when he has other horses to catch up and
outpace.'
'Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and
persistence,
is the quality that most frequently makes for success.'
Ride Your Own Horse to the Finish Line
'You have got to decide, look, this is who I am;
this is my best way to
present myself,
and I'm going to ride that horse to the finish line.
Not
everybody will like it, but that's OK.'
Phil McGraw
'It is not best that we should all think alike;
it is difference of
opinion that makes horse races.'
Mark Twain
A Weary Old Work Horse Loves Freedom
'A horse loves freedom,
and the weariest old work horse
will roll on the ground
or break into a lumbering gallop when he is turned
loose into the open.'
If you fall off a horse, you get back up
'It is not enough for a man to know how to ride; he must
know how to fall.'
Mexican Proverb
'I guess all songs is folk songs. I never heard no horse sing 'em.'

Great quotes, Sue. I found the one from Viggo Mortensen surprising and delightful. And it's been a while since I've heard the expression "horse sense," but I've always liked it.
What I love, Jean, is that horse sense is almost a hold-over from days long ago, yet it's still with us today...as in Mortensen's wonderful quote. I'm working on finding my way to cat wisdom for you primary cat lovers (I love cats too).
'There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.' ~Author Unknown
