Stop Suffering~Accept What Is~Release What Was

Accept What Is

Life is what it is. It flies forward, never backwards.

The sooner you accept life as it is, the sooner you stop suffering.

Release What Was

To ease into the natural flow of life you must fly above your troubles,
look towards the horizon, and let go of what was.

Think of life as a motion picture, not a static snapshot,
that continually evolves and shapes you~changing your story as it unfolds.

When you hold on to the past or wish things were different
it simply prolongs your suffering and struggles.

Make room for the next chapter by taking wing, letting go~and trusting.

Accept What Is~Release What Was~Create What Must Be

When life challenges you,
get busy accepting what is,
releasing what was,
and creating what must be.

You know what you must do
to endure what you can not escape,
and to step out of suffering into building a good life.
Create what must be.

It's not always easy, but it is essential.
This is life.
You've got this!

Linger Not in your Sorrows~You Do Not Belong There

Suddenly we Laugh!

We carry our burden on and on,
Until one day,
Suddenly,
We laugh and set it down on the ground.

Muriel Strode

Life Pulling You Backwards?
Wait Patiently with Anticipation

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards.
When life pulls you backwards,
It means you're going to launch into something great.
Just focus and aim.

Re-imagine Yourself as an Arrow

Why do we always imagine the worst when we experience setbacks?
Learn to convert fearful anticipation into positive anticipation.

Re-imagine yourself as an arrow.
~BREATHE~
Consciously re-orient your view of the situation~
Switch from worrying about what bad thing is coming next
to leaving space for something good to unfold~
Wait patiently with positive anticipation as you're pulled backwards~
Keep your eyes on the bullseye of your HOPES and DREAMS.
Let the blessings reveal themselves.

Linger not in your Sorrows

Linger not in your sorrows.
You do not belong there.

Dodinsky

Resilience is Key to Healing

I know about carrying around burdens and lingering in sorrows. I know about dealing with devastating setbacks. And I also know how important it is to turn around my view of seemingly dire situations as quickly as I can to allow me to anticipate a positive path to a brighter future.

It's been eight weeks since my husband lost function in his right leg after enjoying a beautiful bike ride one sunshiny spring morning. And he's been in the hospital for seven of those weeks following the amputation of his right leg due to blood clots thrown from the aneurysm behind his knee.

He has endured nine surgeries, including revisions to the amputation, and is currently dealing with an infection of the bone. So I know about carrying around burdens and lingering in sorrows.

What has keep us going, and always looking towards the future with hope, is our desire to move out of the overwhelming and frightening feelings into living each day with a positive outlook for accepting what is and creating what must be. If we can't do anything about it, we let it be. If there is something we can do, we do it.

Life is full of difficulties, challenges, and crises. The goal for us all is to muster the strength, courage, and grit to get through each difficulty with grace, calmness and as much ease as we can put forth.

Pain is a given in life. Suffering is not. Why linger in sorrow when you can find more positive perspectives to get you through? Look for your blessings always lurking around the corner instead.

After I've carried my sorrow on and on, I live for the days when I suddenly laugh, and put the burden down. It's much easier to  get through the tough times by being of good cheer, turning my face towards the sun, and casting the shadow of my burdens behind me. Life is good and my future is bright.

Sleep My Child and Peace Attend Thee All through the Night

Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night.

Guardian Angels God will send thee,
All through the night.

Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping.

I my loving vigil keeping,
All through the night.

While the moon her watch is keeping,
All through the night.

While the weary world is sleeping,
All through the night.

Over thy spirit gently stealing,
Visions of delight revealing,
Breathes a pure and holy feeling,
All through the night.

Through your dreams you're softly stealing,
Visions of delight revealing,
Life is good and so appealing,
All through the night.

All through the Night Lullaby, Edward Jones 1784

Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

The world is full of troubles and worries that can keep you up at night.
So many changes and transitions can make it difficult to turn off
the thinking and machinations going on behind your eyes.

Yet in troubled times the most important thing you can do
to successfully navigate life is to get restful sleep.

As change and difficulties are a natural part of life
you must learn ways to turn off your mind
so you can tumble into deep, peaceful slumber.
Try reciting this restful lullaby to the child within you.

Let the world turn softly while you sleep.
Allow your guardian angels to watch over you.
Breath a pure and holy feeling all through the night.

Let go.

Sleep.

Doubt Not!
Believe in this life flowing through you

~The Great Ganges~
Anoint yourself in its waters
Rise to the occasion.

Doubt Not!
Believe in your ability to rise to each challenge;
To successfully swim through the waters of life at high tide.
Revel in the goodness of your body and spirit to heal.
Calm yourself in restorative sleep.
You are safe.
All is Well.

Problems Come to Pass~Blessings Come to Stay

Life is sometimes hard, bringing challenges for us to find our way through. But no matter the difficulties we face, optimism and hope are key to helping us find our way through.

Let optimism and hope be your companions as you navigate the future in times of hardship.

"Optimism is the sunshine of the soul."

Old Saying

"To know the disillusionments of life,
and to come enchanted still."

Muriel Strode

"An optimist is the human personification of spring."

Susan Bissonette

"My optimism wears heavy boots and is loud."

Henry Rollins

"True optimists polish the bright side's halo."

Terri Guillements

"Your problems have come to pass, not to stay."

Colleen McGinn

"But listen to me.
For one moment quit being sad.
Hear blessings dropping their blossoms around you."

Rumi

"Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all."

Emily Dickinson

I find hope and optimism wherever I go. I snapped pictures of the ficus trees in the lobby of the hospital where my husband has been for over a month. I see the healing spirits that surround us everywhere we go. They look out for us and help us carry the burdens.

You are some of my healing spirits helping me carry the burden of my current challenge. The uplifting quotes and photos you share with me find their way into my healing art and helps to heal my heart too! Thank you!

Remember: Life is fluid, not static. Your problems have come to pass; Your blessings have come to stay. Stay present and take it one day at a time while looking for the blessings dropping their leaves all around you. This is what helps me get by.
