Khalil Gibran: In the Sweetness of Friendship let there be Laughter

Khalil Gibran~Wisdom for the Ages

In my youth I read Khalil Gibran;
Now, in my golden years,
I contemplate Khalil Gibran--
one thoughtful musing at a time;
letting my mind slowly absorb
the simplicity of his words;
letting the feelings
seep into the depth of my heart
and the loving thoughts
reside in my soul.

💕

"In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter"--
could there be a better thought to hold?

💕

Friendship is many things,
but shared laughter is the ultimate
life-giving experience.

💕

Strive to find the sweet spots
in your relationships.

💕

Find ways to share laughter and pleasures
despite the challenges and difficulties
you experience along the way.

The Sweetness of Friendship

"In the sweetness of friendship
let there be laughter
and the sharing of pleasures,
for in the dew of the little things
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed."

Khalil Gibran

💕

May your heart always find its morning and be refreshed.

Lightarted Living: Let Bitterness and Hurt Go to Make Room for More P...

Lightarted Living: Let Bitterness and Hurt Go to Make Room for More P...

Let Bitterness and Hurt Go to Make Room for More Positive and Uplifting Experiences

What Hurts?

  • Who or what hurt you?
  • What are you bitter about?
  • Where in your heart of hearts do you feel life has let you down?
  • Why have you developed a "hardening of the attitudes'?

Sometimes life can leave you feeling betrayed and bitter. That's okay--acknowledge and name what you're feeling--and sit in your sorrow for a while. But when you're ready to brush yourself off and get back on top of the world, put your big girl pants on, and let it go.

Like the rest of us, you want a life you can be fully engaged in--one in which you're productive, loved, and appreciated for the gifts you bring to the world. Why allow hurt and bitterness to hold you back? Invite your most resilient and powerful self to take the lead to consciously release any hurt and bitterness holding you back.

You are not weak, and you are not a victim. You are a smart and capable person. You have within you whatever it takes to move through the challenges life presents you, and you're worthy of enjoying a rich, meaningful life. So don't let hurt feelings harbor in your soul.

Take charge of your emotions. Think about how the hurt and bitterness you're harboring inside gets in the way of you fully enjoying your life. Then consider what good things could happen if you let these soul-killing feelings go.

When you consciously cleanse hard feelings out of your soul you make room for more uplifting and positive experiences to appear in your life. And you can more easily see opportunities around you when you stop wasting your energy maintaining hurt and bitterness. So don't stuff your feelings; cleanse them.

Do You Care Enough about Yourself to let Hurt and Bitterness go?

The question is, if you're carrying a sense of hurt and bitterness do you care enough about yourself to let it go?

Affirm 'my soul is cleansed of hurt and bitterness'--and take a step toward doing something affirming--one that fills you with feelings of self-worth, fulfillment, and connection to life and others. You are worth it. Do it now.

Why I Do What I Do

I love helping others tap into their more robust and resilient natures, particularly when working through self-doubt, life and career transitions, relationships, and self-confidence issues.

I encourage you to take a nonjudgmental and growth-oriented path towards becoming the best person you’re meant to be—while encouraging you to appreciate the richness of who you already are.

We're all in this awesome life together. When you lift yourself up, you lift up everyone around you. Join me in my quest to make it a better life for all by starting with yourself.

Lightarted Living: Friends Long Long Ago

Lightarted Living: Friends Long Long Ago:

Friends Long Long Ago

FRIENDS

Many years have passed,
But I knew you well,
long, long ago.

still think kind thoughts of you~
So many fond memories;
So many stories told.

Deep within my heart and soul,
good thoughts of you I hold.

Today sweet memories of you emerged
reminding me of good times we shared;

I'm sending you love through the airwaves;
wherever you may be;

Just know that someone still loves you,
and that someone would be me.

I send this message of love to you
in hopes you'll turn around and
send a link to this post
to the people you love
who've been lingering
in the back of your mind.

Love makes the world go round.

Make new friends,
but never, never forget
the old friends from long, long ago!

Lightarted Living: Enough! Overcoming Little Annoyances Wearing You Out

Lightarted Living: Enough! Overcoming Little Annoyances Wearing You Out:

Enough! Overcoming Little Annoyances Wearing You Out

"It isn't the mountains ahead that wear you out--
It's the grain of sand in your shoe."

Robert William Service, Scottish Poet 1874-1958

 What's Wearing on You?

 What is the grain of sand in your shoe wearing you out—that annoyance present in the back of your mind wearing you down? What's grating on you today?

 Perhaps

  •  You're waiting for the other shoe to drop at work;
  •  You can't seem to get the landlord to fix that hole in your ceiling and the rain is leaking through;
  • You have a good paying job—but the daily work is soul-killing;
  • You landed a job—but you still don't have childcare.
  • You finally retired--but you don't know what to do with your time.

Little Annoyances Affect Life Satisfaction

 No matter how good our lives are, we all face trials in our daily lives that can wear us down. Truth is even if our lives are excellent overall, we still measure our life satisfaction by the least satisfying parts—i.e. those grains of sand.

 Don't Ignore Your Grain of Sand, Acknowledge it

We all face difficult decisions as we move through life. When faced with the difficulty of choosing between two less-than-optimum options, too often we freeze and make no decision at all--and this unresolved dilemma goes underground and begins to wear on us like the grains of sand in our walking shoes.

The problem with those annoying grains of sand is rather than choosing to pause to remove them we attempt to ignore them. But without acknowledging and embracing them we'll never find relief.

 Choose to Create a Pearl instead of a Daily Grind

 Rather than allowing your grain of sand to wear you down, let it build you up.

In a clam, that grain of sand has the potential of creating a pearl. You too have the possibility of creating something exquisite and beautiful in your life when you stop to to pay attention to what's working and what's not.

Those grains of sand are irritating and annoying—but they make us pay attention.

Stop ignoring the irritation in your life, acknowledge and embrace it. Choose to reach through the current irritation to create a better life.

 Four Steps to Turn SAND into Your Pearl

 1Acknowledge and embrace the Irritation. Let yourself become aware and fully conscious of what's grating on you. Name it. Sit in it.

2Keep on WalkingDo nothing. Let the irritation grow your awareness to produce your life pearl.

3. Stop. When you're ready--take off your shoes and shake it off. Choose your next action.

4Start A New Direction--Take a step—any step—away from your irritant towards creating a better life NOW.

 What's Your PEARL?

What PEARL can you create out of your grains of sand? Play with the letters in PEARL to create a positive picture of what you want to create out of your grain of sand.

Possibilities, Enthusiasm, Acceptance, Relationships, Love

Playful, Enjoyable, Action-oriented, Reliable, Loyal

Pain-free, Ease, Action-oriented, Relief-creating, Laughter
