Sleep My Child and Peace Attend Thee All through the Night

Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night.

Guardian Angels God will send thee,
All through the night.

Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping.

I my loving vigil keeping,
All through the night.

While the moon her watch is keeping,
All through the night.

While the weary world is sleeping,
All through the night.

Over thy spirit gently stealing,
Visions of delight revealing,
Breathes a pure and holy feeling,
All through the night.

Through your dreams you're softly stealing,
Visions of delight revealing,
Life is good and so appealing,
All through the night.

All through the Night Lullaby, Edward Jones 1784

Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

The world is full of troubles and worries that can keep you up at night.
So many changes and transitions can make it difficult to turn off
the thinking and machinations going on behind your eyes.

Yet in troubled times the most important thing you can do
to successfully navigate life is to get restful sleep.

As change and difficulties are a natural part of life
you must learn ways to turn off your mind
so you can tumble into deep, peaceful slumber.
Try reciting this restful lullaby to the child within you.

Let the world turn softly while you sleep.
Allow your guardian angels to watch over you.
Breath a pure and holy feeling all through the night.

Let go.

Sleep.

Doubt Not! Believe in this Life Flowing through You

Doubt Not!
Believe in this life flowing through you
~This River of Life~
~The Great Ganges~
Anoint yourself in its waters
Rise to the occasion.

Nicholas Corrin

Doubt Not!
Believe in your ability to rise to each challenge;
To successfully swim through the waters of life at high tide.
Revel in the goodness of your body and spirit to heal.
Calm yourself in restorative sleep.
You are safe.
All is Well.

Problems Come to Pass~Blessings Come to Stay

Life is sometimes hard, bringing challenges for us to find our way through. But no matter the difficulties we face, optimism and hope are key to helping us find our way through.

Let optimism and hope be your companions as you navigate the future in times of hardship.

"Optimism is the sunshine of the soul."

Old Saying

"To know the disillusionments of life,
and to come enchanted still."

Muriel Strode

"An optimist is the human personification of spring."

Susan Bissonette

"My optimism wears heavy boots and is loud."

Henry Rollins

"True optimists polish the bright side's halo."

Terri Guillements

"Your problems have come to pass, not to stay."

Colleen McGinn

"But listen to me.
For one moment quit being sad.
Hear blessings dropping their blossoms around you."

Rumi

"Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all."

Emily Dickinson

I find hope and optimism wherever I go. I snapped pictures of the ficus trees in the lobby of the hospital where my husband has been for over a month. I see the healing spirits that surround us everywhere we go. They look out for us and help us carry the burdens.

You are some of my healing spirits helping me carry the burden of my current challenge. The uplifting quotes and photos you share with me find their way into my healing art and helps to heal my heart too! Thank you!

Remember: Life is fluid, not static. Your problems have come to pass; Your blessings have come to stay. Stay present and take it one day at a time while looking for the blessings dropping their leaves all around you. This is what helps me get by.

In Flowers Our Hearts Blossom

The Blooming Possibilities of Life

In Flowers~
We see the blooming possibilities of our lives
and allow our hearts to blossom.

In Flowers~
We witness a vibrant joy and beauty in the world~
A beauty that ebbs and flows through its natural life cycle;
Withering at the end of  the blooming season~
Only to return in bold splashes of color in Spring.

In Flowers,
We witness rebirth~
And once again hope takes root deep in our soul,
and we see the blooming possibilities before us.

The Christening of Spring

While attending the christening of Spring,
We anoint the season of renewal and sunshine
with prayerful regard.

We don the cloak of bright, sun-shiny cheerfulness,
And gather loved ones for nest-making,
and joy-filled noise-making.

Gleefully, we turn our faces towards the sun
and await our opening.

IRIS

I rise after the long winter,
A symbol of renewal and resiliency.

Rejoice!

No matter how long the winter,
Spring always comes.
Turn your face towards the sun.

Rejoice!

Bloom

"And then the day came
When the risk to remain in a bud
Was more painful than the risk to blossom."

Anais Nin

Bloom Where You're Planted

Why Wait?

You are destined to blossom into a stunning flower.
Wherever you are, that's where you're destined to bloom.

There is never a time in your journey
when you're done blooming.

Like a flower, your blooming will naturally ebb and flow.
But there will always be the next season.

Trust yourself
Be Bold!
Open
Be Vibrant!

Be of Good Cheer!

My Mother Showed Us: Life is Life~Rise to the Challenge

Getting through the Hard Times with Grace

My memories of childhood are sweet. Pretty ordinary every day living I thought back then.

I remember a time in my late teens, while I contemplated the hardships other families were enduring, thinking my family was relatively happy and secure because we hadn't dealt with any hardships. But that was the glow of childhood innocence coloring my perspective--that, and of course my mother--'Moo'--who was the one to lead the family through hard times with grace.

Moo was the most upbeat and good natured person I knew. As a child what always stood out for me was my mother's good sense of humor as she raised 6 wildly independent children. From my child perspective I thought nothing bad ever happened to our family which made it easy for my mother to remain so upbeat.

Yet the truth is my parents lived through the great depression, WWII, the Polio epidemic-- not to mention my older sister contracting polio at four months old, the car falling on my older brother's head, and my mother's first child dying at birth.

What I learned about getting through hard times with grace was from my mother showing us how to get through the difficulties.

Moo showed us that life is life--and we must rise to meet the challenges every day. When bad things happened, you quickly turned your focus to how to make things better and to putting the hardships behind you--no matter how long the hardships lingered.
She showed us that the proper response to difficulties was to get busy taking action to improve the well-being of all and rectify the situation--no matter how small a step you took one after the other--starting with the basics of everyday living.
She showed us through her actions that when things get tough you gather together and find your way through together. She always found ways to comfort and cheer others up during painful or difficult times.
My mother had 'the gift of helps' , meaning she was always willing to help others in practical ways--cleaning their house, doing their dishes, making them baked custard or bringing them dinner. She showed us the proper way to deal with times of trouble was to reach out and help others with kindness and compassion.

On this Mother's Day, I wish for all of us to learn a thing or two from the mother's who came before us--who showed us how to get through these incredibly trying times with strength, grace, compassion and kindness.

Everyone is watching. Through our actions we can show the next generation we have the strength of character to get through this. What do you want your actions to show the world? How will you rise up to meet this challenge called LIFE?

My mother--Moo, Nosey Rosey, Ready Betty, Dr Mom--Mother
She was our shining light with a loving heart.

See how her soul glistens with golden flames?

She was an angel of light bringing joy and uplift to all around her.

Happy Mother's Day, Moo!

You Are One with Nature~Accept the Healing it Bestows on You

The Yucca Goddess

The Yucca Goddess breathes
life-giving goodness into the air

Life-Giving

The trees around me don't philosophize;
They photosynthesize.

Never spouting meanness or lies,
They soothe my spirit
with their majestic spirits and size.

As I walk through a canopy
of towering pines, oaks, and madrones,
I listen intently for their healing tones.

Your gentle whispers and rustling leaves, sweet trees,
calm my spirit~I let everything be.

With almost imperceptible rhythmic swaying,
you gently hum 'breath out~breath in'
and magically clear the air of carbon dioxide
to provide us fresh air to breath again.

Without fuss,
the trees bestow on us
their magical photosynthesis.

Breathe out~Breathe in~
then quietly start it all over again.

Thank you Tree Goddesses for graciously sharing
Life-giving goodness into our air.

How kind you are to provide us this gift--
to 'breath in' carbon dioxide and
'breath out' oxygen.

I feel your branches wrap me in loving care,
as you blow kisses in the wind through my hair.

Nature Anoint Me

Come anoint me, sweet nature
with calmness and ease.

Let me stroll through your sheltering
of bark, limbs and leaves;
Help me put anxiety, worry and fear away for awhile.

Let me breathe deeply your sweet purified air,
leaving me rested and without a care.

In the Company of Nature

Breathe deeply~breathe in hope

We couldn't exist without trees
purifying the air around us.

"A study from South Korea's Forest Research Institute indicated that each 25-year-old cherry tree can absorb about 20 pounds of emissions each, according to a Tuesday report from UPI. The country's cherry trees are said to be capable of absorbing about 2.4 tons of carbon, roughly equivalent to the emissions of 6,000 cars per year. The emissions of a single car can be absorbed by 250 mature trees."
Newsweek May 1, 2020

Commune with Nature

Breathe in healing freshness~
Let all fear go

Trust Nature~Heal Your Spirit

Breathe deeply~
Fill your spirit with love, hope and trust

Fill Your Heart with Love

Let Fear Go

The Yucca Goddess
Breaths healing and
 protection into the world~
Purifying our air with freshness

The Yucca Goddess
Breaths fresh hope into our world~
Healing our souls and bringing us
New opportunities to love and heal.

Now is the perfect time to sit in
the company of nature.
