Sleep My Child and Peace Attend Thee All through the Night

Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night.

Guardian Angels God will send thee,
All through the night.

Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping.

I my loving vigil keeping,
All through the night.

While the moon her watch is keeping,
All through the night.

While the weary world is sleeping,
All through the night.

Over thy spirit gently stealing,
Visions of delight revealing,
Breathes a pure and holy feeling,
All through the night.

Through your dreams you're softly stealing,
Visions of delight revealing,
Life is good and so appealing,
All through the night.

All through the Night Lullaby, Edward Jones 1784

Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

The world is full of troubles and worries that can keep you up at night.
So many changes and transitions can make it difficult to turn off
the thinking and machinations going on behind your eyes.

Yet in troubled times the most important thing you can do
to successfully navigate life is to get restful sleep.

As change and difficulties are a natural part of life
you must learn ways to turn off your mind
so you can tumble into deep, peaceful slumber.
Try reciting this restful lullaby to the child within you.

Let the world turn softly while you sleep.
Allow your guardian angels to watch over you.
Breath a pure and holy feeling all through the night.

Let go.

Sleep.

Susan, I really needed this blog this morning. It is now 4:11am and I could not sleep. I have been up for hours already. I wish I had gone to my computer and checked my e-mails when I first got up. What you say is so true about sleep. I want to be healthy and right now I am not. I been in a lot of pain and have lots of worries. However, I have no been able to accomplish what I need to do for I am so tired and do not feel good. I am going to start reading this blog every night for I need all the help I can get. God bless you and Mark. I know you have both been experiencing some lack of sleep. I am praying for both of you. Bod bless.

Sue, it was a beautiful photo, but what you did with it is wonderful! I have a busy mind that doesn't like to "call it a day" and, though I can force a shutdown a good deal of the time, sometimes it chases sleep away. Even people with nothing close to what the two of you are going through right now are having difficulty because of this new pandemic way of life. This will help lots of people. Thank you for doing what you do. All the best to you both.
