Happy Day!

“There is only one way to happiness and that is
to cease worrying about things
which are beyond the power of our will.”

Epictetus

“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle,
and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
Happiness never decreases by being shared.”

Buddha

“Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing,
of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear,
and not bothering.”

Winnie the Pooh

“We tend to forget that happiness
doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have,
but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”

Frederick Keonig

“Happiness depends upon ourselves.”

Aristotle

“We begin from the recognition that all beings cherish happiness
and do not want suffering. It then becomes both morally wrong
and pragmatically unwise to pursue only one’s own happiness
oblivious to the feelings and aspirations of all others
who surround us as members of the same human family.

The wiser course is to think of others
when pursuing our own happiness.”

Dalai Lama

“In every moment we have a chance to make a choice
to bring light into the world. When we bless others
with the gift of our positive energy, instead of letting
circumstances affect us negatively,
we bring a little peace to the world every day.”

Madisyn Taylor

“Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others,
you should put a good deal of thought
into the happiness that you are able to give.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

“When I look back on all these worries,
I remember the story of the old man
who said on his deathbed
that he had had a lot of trouble in his life,
most of which had never happened.”

Winston Churchill

“Happiness is something that comes into our lives
through doors we don’t even remember leaving open.”

Sue, love the quotes and love your art, as always! But there is something different about it today. Tell me about it!

Jean--this art started with a photo of buildings which I diffused/cut out portions on the computer before creating the background for the pen and ink/watercolor art over it. It's less intense and more opened up.
