How to Easily get from Here to There: Vincent the Cat's Simple Advice

How to get from Here to There with Ease

Meet Vincent--a truly helpful cat.  When his human, Sue Flynn packs for a trip to visit the grandkids Vincent likes to sit in the middle of her suitcase to supervise and keep a close eye on things.

Since Vincent is an expert supervising day-to-day human activities, he's observed humans are always traveling from here to there while tending to get a bit twitter-patted so he thought he would pass on a little helpful advice for all fellow travelers to ease their way.

Maintain a Stance of Calm Alertness

"When you're traveling from here to there, transitions are easier when you maintain a stance of calm alertness", says Vincent.  "Keep your attention on what you seek and when the opportunity presents itself, pounce.

Got Catnip?

"Know what serves as your catnip and always pack plenty wherever you go," says Vincent.
"What is catnip you ask? For us, catnip is a delightful herb that when eaten can have a calming effect for cats and when smelled can have a stimulating effect. It can also act as a pest repellent!  While this is catnip for cats, humans need to discover what can serve as their catnip to stimulate or calm them."

"In summary, know your catnip and always have plenty on hand to help you maintain just the right state of calm alertness--and keep away the pests disrupting your calm alertness," advises Vincent.

Discover Your Catnip to Maintain Calm Alertness at All Times

What's your catnip? A calming walk or energizing run? A quiet moment of solitude or an energizing chat? A refreshing catnap or a refreshing cup of coffee or tea?

"Just like catnip can have different effects on different cats, what energizes and calms you--your catnip--is specific to you," says Vincent.

"Once you figure out what your catnip is, apply liberally."
"A little nip now and then never hurt anybody," says Vincent.

A Little Nap Now and Then Never Hurt Anyone

Vincent says: "Change an 'i' to an 'a' and you turn catnip into catnap. What could be better than taking catnaps throughout the day to refresh and reset your brain to a calm and alert state?"

Traveling from here to there can take it out of you, and along the way a calm alert stance can quickly turn into a frenzied and intense state leading to a wary, fearful state when you fail to balance.
Catnaps keep you balanced and ready for opportunities to pounce.
Catnaps are the ultimate catnips for calming. If you don't have time for a quick catnap, try a bit of purring (calm breathing) and slow eye blinks while staring off into space.

Accept the Purr-fection of Life

When you accept you are exactly where you're meant to be it really doesn't matter if you're here or there, or coming or going.

"The ultimate catnip is taking a positive expectation with you wherever you go," says Vincent. "Expect your life to be good and joyous. When you accept 'everything is purr-fect' it's easier to maintain a calm alert state and be ready to pounce on opportunities in the blink of a cat's eye."

A Final Note from Vincent

If you live with cats Vincent especially wants you to pay close attention to these tips when you're going out of town and leaving your cat behind or taking your cat with you. Vincent thinks either option is fine as long as you closely follow his advice and apply it liberally to the cat.

"What's that, Vincent?"
"Remember CATNIP!"
