Looking Ahead Hopefully

"Looking ahead hopefully
is the essence of being happy."

Gail Sheehy

Thirsty Boots

"Oh take off your thirsty boots
And stay for awhile
Your feet are hot and weary from a dusty mile
And maybe I can make you laugh
And maybe I can try
Lookin' for the evenin'
And the mornin' in your eyes"

Eric Andersen, American Singer-Songwriter

"Pack up your sorrows
And give them all to me"

Songwriters Mimi & Richard FariƱa

Hope is like the sun,
which, as we journey toward it,
casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

"Looking ahead hopefully is the essence of being happy." ~ Gail Sheehy I've not yet read her work and have never seen that quote anywhere, Sue. It really speaks to me!

Jean you are in for a real treat if you pick up Gail Sheehy's classic "Passages". Certainly has proven true. I hadn't remembered the quote--got it from Mr Lightarted. It is such an incredible viewpoint. I don't know that you could find a better definition of 'the essence of being happy'. Wishing you a hopeful outlook!
