Of all turmoil

Retrieve the utter tranquility

Of the mind

From which you issued

Life is a Natural Shit-Disturber~Deal with it

Change Disrupts Our Lives By Design

💙 What are you dealing with at the moment?
💚 What has you anxious as you anticipate your future?
💓 What life change are you hoping to navigate smoothly?

No matter what you're dealing with--a major illness, starting a family, switching careers, moving, or getting divorced or married--any transition such as these 'seemingly good or bad' ones can send the strongest of souls into a sea of confusion and anxiety as you attempt to come out on top of the wave.

If you're to do well in life you need to accept that life is a natural 'shit-disturber' but also accept you are created with a nervous system designed to deal with whatever is thrown at you. You have what it takes to deal with life effectively.

Change and Transition~Natural Companions of Everyday Life

You'd think by the time you reached adulthood you'd learn to take it all in stride. But too often even the smallest change disrupts your life causing you to initially lose your bearing and rhythm. This is true for all of us.

Sometimes a change--whether good or bad--can really throw you for a loop--filling your life with a maze of obstacles to navigate and decisions to make at the very moment you're overwhelmed by the transitions causing the upheaval and turmoil.

Bring the Calm

So what's to be done with this natural shit-disturber called Life? We must learn to deal with it calmly and deliberately.
When life brings the disruption, you bring the calm.
You may not always choose the situation you find yourself in, but you always have a choice in how you respond. So when life brings disruption, you can choose to act in ways that interject calmness to give yourself more control and ease moving forward.

How to Interject Calmness

Your tools for calmly dealing with change are always within your reach--hiding in plain sight. All you need do is acknowledge you have them, and then put them to use daily.

Improve your Attitude. Accept change as a way of life. Chose to deal with it calmly.

Practice the Pause. Take time out from decision-making and anticipating the future. Give yourself time to do nothing and think about nothing. Choose to make decisions from a place of calm.

Pace Yourself. When your thought process speeds up, slow it down. Lower your expectations.

Stop ThinkingDo something to calm your breathing and heart rate--by engaging in  pleasurable distractions. Listen to music. Take a gentle walk. Practice yoga. Read a book. Play video games. Play in the garden.

Manage Change when you Can. When you're facing a major life change, find ways to postpone making major decisions that would further disrupt  your life for at least a year.

"We must endure that which we cannot escape."
Mark Nepo

You cannot escape life so you best learn how to navigate the barrage of changes you face with calmness. Get on board this amazing ride called life and find your way to go with the flow and keep rolling along.

Meditate on This!

Buddy~The Ambassador of Good Will

BUDDY ~ THE AMBASSADOR OF GOODWILL

Buddy's thoughts for his people:
'Write on your heart every day is the best day of the year.'

When I first met Buddy trotting around the neighborhood on his daily walk, along with his human, I immediately fell in love with him as he reminded me of my Ginger who I'd lost not too long ago. He was sweet and good-natured with ears that tilted forward and bounced as he walked.

Ginger~
My Ambassador of Goodwill

I met Richard, Buddy's male human, only after Buddy, the Ambassador of Goodwill, made the proper introductions. And when Stacy, Buddy's female human arrived on the scene, Buddy brought her around and solidified our relationship too.

It was John Steinbeck in his book 'Travels with Charley' who adopted the term 'Ambassador of Goodwill' for Charley his standard poodle--a dog who served to open up conversations with strangers during Steinbeck's travels across America. I loved how 'Ambassador of Goodwill' captured a dog's ability to connect people, and it became my way of looking at gregarious dogs like Buddy.

Like Steinbeck, I meet the nicest people on the other side of the leash when their sociable dogs take the lead. The humans join in the greeting and stop for a friendly chat after the Ambassadors of Goodwill open the door with a happy greeting and tail-wag. And once we've been properly introduced by these emissaries, an opportunity for an on-going connection is forged through friendly hellos and perhaps a dog treat or two on daily dog walks.

Rarely do I meet a human through a dog who I don't like. There is simply something deeply satisfying about sharing a love of dogs. It build a trust between humans. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat their dog.

Buddy, who departed this world last month, was an especially gracious Ambassador of Goodwill. His happy nature brought ease and comfort to all conversations, and calmness to his people. He showed us the world is a happy place.

BUDDY ~ THE CHARMING GARDENER OF THE SOUL

Buddy was also a good layabout dog who understood the joy of doing nothing and fretting about nothing. 'Easy does it', he'd show his people. Sleep it off. Go for a run. Share a moment with a loved one. Whatever is troubling you can be waved away with the wag of the tail and a moment of petting. He was always amenable to a petting.

BUDDY THE COMFORTER

Buddy was a tender soul who comforted his people all the way to the end. When he was too weak to get up himself, he still responded to his people's sadness with a gentle tail-wag, letting them know 'everything will all be okay, but its my time to go'.

FAREWELL AMBASSADOR OF GOODWILL

While losing a dog is one of the hardest life experiences, it's a comfort to know our dogs will dwell in our hearts and souls long after they're gone~and we're better humans for knowing the love of a dog. That special power of theirs to ease our worries and tensions reemerges when we recall the tenderness they bestowed upon us and their happy tail-wags that greeted us throughout their too short lives.

Farewell Buddy, Ambassador of Goodwill.  Happy romping in the Valley of the Dogs!

Brighten Your Outlook~Paint a Brighter Future Despite Troubles Now

The Fairy Poet

"The fairy poet takes a sheet of moonbeams
~silver white~

His ink is dew from daisies sweet

His pen a point of light."

Joyce Kilmer

Bless This Place

"Hand in hand, with fairy grace,
We will sing and bless this place."

William Shakespeare
Midsummer's Night Dream

In the Midst of Difficulties
 Bless where you are Anyway

Whatever is troubling you~learn to let it go and rise above it.

Life is full of difficulties, obstacles and trauma. It is up to you to find your way through by rising above the circumstantial realities of your life to embrace the spiritual realities of the moment.

You were born to go around obstacles and to be spurred on by difficulties to seek a better life.

Discomfort, pain, and frustration serve as the nudges poking and annoying you into taking actions to remedy what isn't working for you. Heed the call.
What is the proper response to life's difficulties?

💓To seek inspiration to soar to greater heights;

💓To seek support and uplift to provide you with the courage and strength to face what you must endure;

💓To seek ways to follow a path of trust and a belief in the goodness of life despite the negative aspects.

💓And above all, to conjure up a belief in yourself that allows you to take actions that show you again and again you have what it takes to handle whatever life throws at you.

With fairy grace, or the grace of fate,
choose to bless whatever
circumstance you're in.

Unleash the fairy poet within you~
the part of you who paints a positive perspective~
refreshing and illuminating your magical life~
making it sweet with moonbeams,
dew of bright daisies, and points of light.

Go ahead, return to being
an airy-fairy Pollyanna
intent on finding your sweet spot
within the ashes of your troubles.

Believe in the Magic of Life

Let Go and Let it all Be

"Like a leaf falling from a tree,
She let go and let it all be.
A small smile came over her face

A light breeze blew through her
And the sun and the moon
Shone forevermore."

Rev. Safire Rose
