Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas

"Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight."
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight."

Winter Wonderland

"Sleigh bells
ring, are you listening
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland."

Winter Wonderland
ππ
"In the meadow
we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say, Are you married?
We'll say, No man
But you can do the job
When you're in town."
Song written by Felix Bernard and Richard B Smith
Winter Wonderland
ππ
"Later on,
we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid
The plans that we've made
Walking in a winter wonderland."
Song written by Felix Bernard and Richard B Smith
Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas
ππ
"Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight.
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight.
Have yourself
a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away
Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us, once more.
Someday soon
we all will be together
If the fates allow.
Until then we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas NOW."
song written
by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane

but more than ever that he is your brother."

"If thy sister wrongs thee,
remember not so much her wrong-doing,
but more than ever that she is your sister."
Enlarge Your Future
Forgiveness does not change the past
but it does enlarge the future.

When you forgive you heal;
When you let go you grow.

πForgiveπLet GoπGrow
Make Room for Home Grown Love
πWho's hurt you that you haven't forgiven?
πHow would your life enlarge if you forgave that person?
πHow much easier would life be if you accepted the apology you never got?
πHow much stronger would your extended family life be
if you remembered more so it is your brother or sister
instead of holding on to the wrong-doing?
πWhat do you have to gain by letting it go?
ππLet love, not hurt, guide your life.

Stress and Struggle Makes Life More Meaningful
"What man needs is not a tensionless state, but rather the striving and struggling for a worthy goal. What he needs is not a tension discharged at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning fulfilled by him."
Victor Frankl
Stress isn't the Enemy
You may think stress is the enemy you need to eliminate from your life. Yet it is your ability to rev up, get excited, and move into high gear that helps you be more productive and successful.
You could say the fullness of our lives is created out of stress. Think how boring and bland an uneventful life would be with nothing to get your blood boiling and nothing to get twitterpatted about.
The fact is each of us likes to have a certain level of stuff going on in our life. If we don't have enough stress, we'll create it to get our juices flowing again.
Our ability to respond to life's challenges in a timely fashion is thanks to our having a great functioning stress hormone system. We would not be able to thrive without it.
Our stress response is behind our e-motions (energy-in-motion) giving us the ump to act with emphasis and excitement to move our lives forward--and giving us the strength to rise above difficult circumstances and endure what we can not escape.
Sure, life can be a slog and struggle, sometimes pulling us down. But it is the stress of an immediate situation that spurs us on to create a better tomorrow. So instead of lamenting about how to eliminate stress learn how to properly use stress and re-balance yourself with relaxing activities to 'clear the palate'.
As Frankl said, to have a meaningful life we don't need a tension-less life, but the striving and struggle for a worthy goal--a 'potential meaning' discharged by ourselves.
It is the struggle and striving for something worthwhile that is life itself. Stop getting bogged down by being stressed and learn to welcome the challenges of life as the stuff of life giving you something to struggle against worthy of you.
No Matter Your Circumstances, Be the Person You Want to Be In Life
What's stressing you out at the moment? How can you embrace the striving and struggle in the situation to create a more fullfilling life? What is your worthy goal worth striving for?
What is it you want to see in the world? How can you transform yourself to be the person you want to be in life?
Accept the Challenge
πBe the Change you want to see in Life. πBe the Cheer you want to see in Life. πBe the Love you want to see. πBe the Compassion you want to experience in Life.π Be the strong Leader you want to have in Life.
BE ALIVE~ENGAGE IN LIFE

Sound Advice for Would-be-Confidants: Be Sounding Boards, not Know-it-Alls
What Makes a Good Friend or Confidant?
πWho do you go to when you need to unload your secret fears, life gripes, or hurts and frustrations?
πWhat do you look for in a confidant?
πWhat makes you trust one person with your doubts and fears but fail to trust another?
Me? I trust the friend who can listen through what I say about myself or another person without judging me or that person.
I don't need or want a confidant to take on what I'm unloading--forever holding a grudge against someone I'm venting my spleen about. I just want to vent my spleen.
I want a confidant who can listen to my complaints as they're meant to be--momentary life stories--that change with the telling.
I don't need or want a friend to take on the responsibility of my life story--or to hold me to my story as a forever truth.
Emotions just are--they're true in the moment. I might be really frustrated at work or furious with a family member, but often after having the opportunity to openly share my feelings I let them go and move on.
I want a friend who will encourage me to see I have the strength and ability to handle whatever situation comes up in life, rather than telling me how to handle a situation.
In my moments of weakness, I want a trusted person to encourage me to trust myself, knowing everything will work out.
Be a Sounding Board, Not a Know-it-All
The value of a true friend is not in their ability to tell us what to do, think or feel, but in their ability to listen deeply to our concerns without reproach or reply.
Through silently and gracefully listening to us share our inner most fears and doubts, true friends give us room to discover 'everything is secretly okay'--we're not doomed to be upset by this situation forever, and we're not horrid people for thinking such things.
If you would be a true friend, learn to be a sounding board, not a know-it-all. Listen intently when someone shares from the depth of their heart. Don't interrupt and impart your wisdom to show how smart you are. Give other people room to feel their feelings and think their thoughts.
Listen unto others as you would have listened unto yourself.
"What Big Ears you have"..."The better to hear you."
We are all always always listening for hope. When we serve as a sounding board for another--without reproach or reply--we provide her an avenue to let it all go and wipe away the invisible tears.
Use your big ears for deep listening, and help those who confide in you to wipe away the invisible tears. You will be rewarded with a deep, long-standing friendship that withstands the test of time.
