Lightarted Living: What's Going on in that Head of Yours?

Lightarted Living: What's Going on in that Head of Yours?:

What's Going on in that Head of Yours?

The Brain Scan

What's going on in that head of yours? What have you been thinking about? How have you been approaching life? How have your thoughts produced actions? How have you been feeling about yourself and life lately?

Here's a peek into what I found in your brain scan:

💓Hope
💙Love
💚Happiness
💛Joy
💜Compassion
💓Peace
💙Tranquility
💚Strength
💛Ease

Your brain makes all of these available to you 24/7. If you've failed to access any of these recently, you should stop to examine why.

Are you on meds that are affecting your outlook and mood? Check in with your doctor to discuss adjusting meds.

Are you sitting in fear and failing to talk about what's bothering you so you can identify steps you can take to improve your situation? Choose a trusted person to talk with, and then choose 1-3 steps to take to feel better.

Do you know what you need to do but you've failed to take the first step? Take a step today without being concerned if it's the right one.

We all go through tough and dark times. The question isn't "Why is this happening to me?, it's "How do I move out of this faster?".  The answer lies in seeking help from others and in always taking the next small step.

Who you are is God's gift to you.
What you make of yourself is your gift to God.

Unknown

If you don't believe in God, believe in the universe.

You have everything you need to make a good life
and to make a difference in the life of others.

Be that person who makes the world a better place.

Dig deep into that brain of yours for the courage,
patience and persistence to be that person
who grabs hold of life and takes it for the ride of a lifetime!

"Don't belittle yourself,
Be BIG yourself."

Lightarted Living: Today is a Blessing

Lightarted Living: Today is a Blessing:

Today is a Blessing

TODAY IS A BLESSING

Today is a Blessing
Tomorrow is too.

There's plenty to be thankful for,
for me and for you.

No matter today's challenges
wake and give thanks.

Breathe deeply this life
despite any strife.

Lightarted Living: Problems Come to Pass~Blessings Come to Stay

Lightarted Living: Problems Come to Pass~Blessings Come to Stay:

Problems Come to Pass~Blessings Come to Stay

Sometimes Life is Hard

Sometimes life is hard, bringing challenges for us to find our way through. But no matter the difficulties we face, optimism and hope are key to helping us find our way through.

Let optimism and hope be your companions as you navigate your future in times of hardship.

"Optimism is the sunshine of the soul."

Old Saying

"To know the disillusionments of life,
and to come enchanted still."

Muriel Strode

"An optimist is the human personification of spring."

Susan Bissonette

"My optimism wears heavy boots and is loud."

Henry Rollins

"True optimists polish the bright side's halo."

Terri Guillements

"Your problems have come to pass, not to stay."

Colleen McGinn

"But listen to me.
For one moment quit being sad.
Hear blessings dropping their blossoms around you."

Rumi

"Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all."

Emily Dickinson

During Tough Times Look to Hope and Optimism to see you Through

During tough times, I look for visions and messages of hope and optimism wherever I go. And every time I go through new challenges I revisit and reabsorb these messages to once again help me through.

Six years ago, when my husband spent two months in the hospital after having his leg amputated I snapped pictures of the Ficus trees in the lobby of the hospital where I saw healing spirits hiding and turned them into healing art. I felt the healing spirits looking out for us and helping us carry our burdens.

And over the years, you--the people in my community--have been the healing spirits personified helping me carry the burden of my challenges. The uplifting quotes and cheerful photos you share with me find their way into my healing art and helps to heal my heart before I send them back to you.

Always Remember:

Life is fluid, not static.

Your problems have come to pass; Your blessings have come to stay.

Your Problems have come to Pass; Your Blessings have come to Stay

You are never alone in your healing journey. Good spirits surround you everywhere, ready to care for, and uplift you. Rest. Be calm. Let the unseen healing forces work for you while you're sleeping. You are safe.

Stay present and take it one day at a time while looking for the blessings dropping their leaves all around you. Your problems have come to pass; your blessings have come to stay. This outlook is what always helps me get by.

Lightarted Living: Have Patience with all Things; But First of all Yo...

Lightarted Living: Have Patience with all Things; But First of all Yo...:

Have Patience with all Things; But First of all Yourself St Francis de Sales

"Have patience with all things; but first of all with yourself."

St Francis de Sales

·         What are you feeling anxious about?

·         What are you in a hurry to get past?

·         Why are you beating yourself up?

A Well-Ordered Mind—Able to Pause and Linger Within Itself

It was Seneca who said, "the first proof of a well-ordered mind is to be able to pause and linger within itself."

If you're feeling impatient with yourself, run a little experiment. Sit quiet for five minutes. Do nothing. Gently breathe in and out. Let your mind and body grow still. In the stillness of the moment, choose one positive action to take that will calm and strengthen you. Do it now.

Train Yourself to Use The Five Minute Anxiety Cure Daily

Commit to running this experiment daily.

Sit quiet for five minutes.

Do nothing.

Gently breathe in and out.

Let your mind and body grow still.

In the stillness of the moment,

choose one positive action to take

that will calm and strengthen you.

Calmly repeat daily.

Daily Moments of Mindfulness Create Consistent Positive Outcomes

Move yourself out of feeling overwhelmed by your situation into a calmer, more productive and peaceful state of mind.

Don't be in a hurry to bypass the five minute cure. You have too much to give the world to stay anxious and distressed.

  • Within a week of practicing five minutes of calming mindfulness daily, you'll have taken seven steps.
  • Within a month of daily mindfulness you'll have calmly and deliberately accomplished 30 positive steps.
  • Within a year of daily 5 minute practice you'll have taken 365 positive steps.

Choose to gently untangle your mind, and with a clear mind and renewed spirit confidently step over your invisible barriers.

Learn to pause and linger within yourself.

"Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit.

Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever,

even if your whole world seems upset."

 St Francis de Sales

"While I am busy with little things,

I am not required to do greater things."

St Francis de Sales

To do greater things in your life,

learn to pause and linger within yourself.

"You brave and glorious thing, you've come so far.
I see you. Your beauty is breath-taking.

You brave and glorious thing, you've come so far.
I see you. Your strength is breath-taking.

You brave and glorious thing, you've come so far.
I see you. Your courage is breath-taking."

Jeannette Encinias

Helping One Another

What could be better than helping each other tap into our more robust and resilient natures, particularly when we're working through issues of self-doubt, life and career transitions, relationships, and self-confidence.

Through listening to, and interacting with, one another in a nonjudgmental and growth-oriented manner we can encourage each other to become the people we’re meant to be—while helping each appreciate the richness of who we already are.

We're all in this awesome life together. Let's all do our part to lift each other up, and make it a better life for all.
