A dog's life is much too short,

but they leave us with such grand memories.

They accompany us through life's ups and downs

comforting us with their unconditional puppy love.

Farewell to Riley

Riley was a friend to all,

a right chipper miss was she.

She was as kind and gentle as a being could be;

she was as close to perfection as a dog can be.

Riley was a happy bit of fluff, you see.

Prancing down the dog walking trail for sixteen years,

with a pleasant greeting for you and for me.

Riley, you brought us such joy, 

says Mary Clark. 

You made us laugh, 

and you made us love.

You're forever in our hearts 

that you filled with love,

our dear, soft, sweet, and tender soul, Riley.

A Tribute to Riley for Mary Clark

I first met Riley on the dog walking trail many, many years ago. It was always such a joy to run into her with her Mama, Mary Clark. The bond between dog Mamas runs deep and when one is lost we all grieve. I will forever envision this adorable and loving Maltese prancing down the trail. She added such lightness to the trail.
